Business Meeting

 

Call to order

Robert McDonald called to order the regular meeting of the Little River Gun Club at 07:10 PM  on July 13, 2011 in the LRGC club house.

A sign in sheet was made available to all members in attendance. The following members signed the sheet and were present:

Treasurers Report

Hugh Butler read the treasurers report and copies are available for anyone to review.

 

Approval of minutes from last meeting

Copies of the minutes were passed out and Gary Hewitt read the minutes. A motion was made to accept, seconded and a unanimous vote to accept the minutes as read.

 

Range Officer Report

Rifle & Pistol Range:

No safety issues to report

If anyone observes the individual(s) shooting a shotgun on the pistol range, or violating any rules please advise one of the officers or board members – your name will not be disclosed if you wish to remain anonymous.

 

Shotgun Venues

Mike requested that if anyone needs clay targets moved to let him know and he and several of the other members moved some recently and will continue to do so.

New shooting schedule for club matches – matches begin 9 AM on Saturdays.

No safety issues to report at this time – low skeet house machine not functioning properly.

 

Committee Reports

 

 

Open Issues

a)      Fans requested under shelter near grills – bid presented for $850.00 to place three fans and wiring. Motion was voted on an approved. Frank Searcy will handle installation with vendor.

b)      Member applications from June meeting – rules that were in place at time of member application will apply and member and sponsor must attend meeting and must sign affidavit.

c)      Fertilizer has been applied to skeet field – 80 lbs with 120 lbs applied to berm addition.

d)      Skeet field low house machine still in need of repair – even if machine is moved to 5-Stand in future

 

 

New Issues

a)      New member applications – no applications presented

b)      Review of member/s who have reached the end of the probation period – no one to review

c)      New business from floor – Larry Griffin presented reduction of fees for shotgun venues to $2.50 stating that these fees will cover cost for targets – effective 7/14/2011 fees for shotgun venues will be $2.50 per 25 target round for members. Guest cost will remain at $5.00 per 25 target round.  A motion was made to purchase two new target machines for the Skeet field as the existing machines are breaking 30% of clay targets.  The motion was voted on with 12 in favor, 6 against and 1 abstaining. The cost of new machines will be $6,200.00.
